Within our Growth pillar, we lead forecasting and insights for our Core grocery business. We are hiring a Senior Strategic Financial Analyst to own topline forecasting, deepen understanding of revenue and unit economics, and translate insights into actions that accelerate growth.</p> <p>In this role, you’ll join a small, high-impact team within a 25-person Strategic Finance org. You’ll partner closely with Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Data Science, and you’ll regularly develop materials for and engage with senior leadership. If you thrive on rolling up your sleeves, diving into data, and shaping strategy with executive stakeholders, this role offers meaningful scope and visibility.&nbsp;</p> <p>This is a remote role open to candidates across the U.S. and Canada; West Coast time zone preference is helpful but not required.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>About the Job</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Own topline forecasting for Instacart’s Core grocery business, building and maintaining driver-based models that clearly tie to business performance and operational levers.</li> <li>Lead proactive deep dives on revenue and unit economics (e.g., LTV, CAC, conversion, AOV, contribution margin) to identify growth opportunities, surface risks, and recommend experiments that improve forecast accuracy and business outcomes.</li> <li>Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Business Development, and Data Science to align assumptions, improve data quality, instrument new metrics, and operationalize insights into roadmaps.</li> <li>Develop executive-ready materials for leadership, including narrative memos, dashboards, and scenario/sensitivity analyses that inform strategic priorities, resource allocation, and trade-off decisions.</li> <li>Own initiative reporting across marketing, product, and enterprise programs; standardize measurement, track incremental impact, and ensure clear readouts for weekly growth reviews, monthly business reviews, and ad hoc deep dives.</li> <li>Collaborate with other Strategic Finance teams to assess the impact of retailer, supply, and marketing initiatives on Core business performance; support investor relations, Board materials, and company-wide Planning.</li> <li>Continuously refine and automate models and reporting to improve speed, accuracy, and decision-making, balancing near-term deliverables with long-term scalability.</li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <h2><strong>About You</strong></h2> <h3>Minimum Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in strategic finance/FP&amp;A, investment banking, or management consulting.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.</li> <li>Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including building driver-based financial models, revenue forecasts, and scenario/sensitivity analyses.</li> <li>Experience preparing and presenting executive-ready materials to VP/C-suite stakeholders, with the ability to distill complex data into clear business narratives.</li> <li>Track record of owning end-to-end forecasting and performance reporting for a product line, business segment, or revenue stream.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Experience in a two-sided marketplace or consumer internet business (e.g., on-demand, e-commerce, advertising, or subscription models).</li> <li>Proficiency with SQL for self-serve analysis; familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.</li> <li>Experience partnering cross-functionally to define metrics, align on assumptions, evaluate experiments, and operationalize insights.</li> <li>Background creating materials for Board meetings, investor relations, and quarterly/monthly business reviews in a high-growth environment.</li> <li>MBA, CFA, or other relevant advanced credential.</li> <li>Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones; availability to align to West Coast hours when needed is a plus.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>#LI-Remote</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work.
